it’s my last day on trolls! i’m immensely grateful for how much i’ve learned on this show & that i got to grow from baby storyboard artist to baby director with this team 😭

Particularly minuet bc as someone who’s autistic I tend to self project on characters so I hc her as autistic and bc there’s so little female autistic rep if she was ever canonically confirmed to be autistic I would be overjoyed!
ahh i actually can’t really confirm stuff like this! the writing of the characters is led by the writing team and our show runner Matt.
when it comes to the storyboards side i often can’t really be an “official” source on a lot of stuff haha, the broader characterization of each character is determined by our show runner and the writers, and in boards each artist & director ends up adding a bit of their own spin on that characterization and how they read it in the character’s acting (& same at the animation stage). for me personally as a board artist i do have my own kind of head canons & interpretations for some characters that influence how i board their acting & antics.
so if you read a character one way it’s definitely possible that someone involved - show runner, writer, director, board artist, animator - is interpreting or writing the character that way too!
i just can’t personally say anything “official” about how they’re written, that’s up to the writers and our leads.

1. yep! i’ve been on trollstopia since the beginning of S1. excited for S2 this week 🥳🎉
2. yeah for sure! i’ve got my own personal headcanons for some of the characters. i read Val as sapphic too. 💖💜 in general i enjoy that there’s so much love in trolls & that the audience can often interpret that love in different ways that resonate with them (romantic, familial, platonic etc)
🙃 this is a massive oversimplification of what my past few months have been like (it’s been much worse than just “dead naming”) but this is just what it’s like when ya change your first name legally! ya get punished constantly
